Description
The glasshouses at the Botanic Gardens on Great Western Road in Glasgow were built in 1883 and have been extensively repaired to their original design. They feature a construction of glass, cedar wood, and cast iron, with ashlar base courses. The rear has been rebuilt with brick base courses. The building has a long symmetrical elevation, highlighted by taller end and central pavilions. Inside, there are cast-iron columns, some of which support cast-iron spiral staircases.
