Description
The police call box on Great Western Road in Glasgow was designed by Gilbert MacKenzie Trench in 1928 and was built around 1935. It is made of reinforced concrete and has a square plan with panelled sides. The box features two-leaf doors and a block frieze that includes a tablet for a 'POLICE' sign. The roof steps inward and has a circular, dome-capped metal finial in the center, which serves as a lamp and ventilator. Each face of the box has upper panels with six-pane glazing. The interior was not seen in 1995.
