Description

Probably H K Bromhead, 1884. 4-storey and basement

classical tenement. Curving facade of 20 bays to Queen

Margaret Drive and Hamilton Drive, 6-bay E return to

Buckingham Street, double-splayed S return bay to

Ruskin Lane with narrow windows in 1st bay. Polished

ashlar. Squared rubble rear and side elevation. Ground

floor level band course. Eaves cornice. All windows

sash and case.

ELEVATION TO QUEEN MARGARET DRIVE AND HAMILTON DRIVE:

bays arranged in 4-bay units with full-height canted

outer bays corniced ground to 2nd floors, coupled entries

in central bays at head of steps oversailing basement

area, independently console corniced. Consoled corniced,

single-light windows at 1st and 2nd floor central bays.

ELEVATION TO BUCKINGHAM STREET: canted corner bay. 5 S

bays with console corniced openings, plain 3rd floor.

Slate roof, corniced axial stacks.
