Description
The police box located in Cathedral Square was designed by Gilbert MacKenzie Trench in 1928 and constructed around 1935. It features a square plan and is made of regularly panelled reinforced concrete. The base is chamfered, and it has a shallow pyramidal roof with three stepped courses. The entrance includes a cast iron door and a communication hatch within a square panel to the left. The upper panels have six-pane fixed glazing, and there is a block frieze with a tablet displaying the word 'POLICE'.
