Description
The police call box on Whitehouse Loan in Edinburgh was designed by the City Architect's Department under EJ MacRae around 1935. It is a standard Edinburgh police box, featuring a classical, rectangular shape made of cast iron, measuring 6 feet by 4 feet. The long sides have two bays with pilasters, and one side includes a door that displays the City Arms. The shorter sides are topped with open pediments that feature ribboned wreath decorations. The glazing has a saltire pattern but is currently boarded over.
