Greenbank, 7 Victoria Circus, Dowanhill, Glasgow

Greenbank is a mid-19th century villa located at 7 Victoria Circus in Dowanhill, Glasgow. This two-storey building features classical details and is constructed from lampblacked droved ashlar with a polished base-course and margins. The north flank includes a single-storey entrance porch.

The west elevation has three bays, with a single-storey canted window at the ground level flanked by single-light sash windows. On the first floor, there are tripartite windows flanking a single window. All windows are architraved and corniced, with lugged detailing on the first floor. The sash windows either have plate glass or 4-pane glazing. The north flank porch is stepped back, corniced, and has a blocking course, along with an architraved doorway.

Additional architectural features include a moulded band course at the first floor cills, eaves strings, and deeply overhanging timber bracketted eaves. The roofs are slate, with corniced axial and wallhead stacks. The rear elevation is finished in stugged coursed ashlar.

There is also a detached two-storey mews cottage or garage to the north, made of droved and coursed ashlar, featuring two carriage entrances and round-arched windows on the west gable. It has timber bracketted eaves and a pitched slate roof. Surrounding the garden is a low coped stugged ashlar boundary wall, which includes a pair of painted ashlar corniced gatepiers.
