Description

Walter MacFarlane and Co, Saracen Foundry, Glasgow, 1888. Octagonal ogee-roofed cast-iron bandstand. 3-tier stone base supports 8 Ionic columns; each with leaf-moulded base on fluted pedestal. Hooped balustrade with Vitruvian scroll band; filigreed spandrel brackets above columns (spandrel at entrance has decorative centre shield as keystone). Copper ogee roof with decorative finial.
