6 Pilmour Links, St Andrews

6 Pilmour Links in St Andrews is a house that was rebuilt between 1884 and 1885. Originally a single storey with an attic, it was raised to two full storeys with a flat roof, possibly in 1925. An attic floor was added between 1999 and 2001, and a rear wing was demolished between 2000 and 2002. The house is part of an irregular terrace and features three bays. It is constructed of stugged, squared rubble with ashlar margins, while the rear elevation is finished in plain render. The building has base and band courses, and the blocking course and parapet are designed to resemble a balustrade.

The south elevation is symmetrical, with a panelled timber door and a plate glass fanlight in the centre bay. The flanking bays have bipartite windows with chamfered arrises and block pediments that feature incised ornament. The outer bays at the first floor have plain bipartite windows. Two piended dormers are set within the parapet. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass glazing. The roof is covered in grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks and ashlar-coped skews, along with cast-iron downpipes and decorative rainwater hoppers.

The property is enclosed by low boundary walls made of saddleback-coped, squared rubble, which include inset railings and an iron gate.
