Description
This is a mid-19th century walled garden, located at Dura House. The garden is irregularly rectangular and enclosed by a wall constructed of coursed rubble, topped with a quarter-rounded coping. A lean-to boiler house is attached to the north side of the north wall, and a small greenhouse is situated on the south side. The main entrance to the garden, also on the north side, has a shouldered lintel. The garden’s layout is larger than that shown on the 1856 Ordnance Survey map. The walled garden is designated as part of a group value context with Dura House.
