Description

This is a row of 19th-century cottages located at 5 Pitlethie Road, Leuchars, comprising 1, 2-window arrangements, with a central door. The cottages are constructed from whin rubble with a slate roof. The dressings differ across the terrace: three cottages feature stugged dressings, five have droved dressings, and one is dated J B 1810, also with droved dressings. Two cottages have piended dormers. The cottages are recognised for their special value as part of the setting of the Romanesque portion of the nearby church. Several cottages previously numbered 454, 457-60, and 463 have since been demolished or reconstructed. The building has been re-categorised as a Category C(S) listing, acknowledging its importance as part of a group interest, and applies to both the interior and exterior. The address is 3, 5, 7 Pitlethie Road, encompassing the cottages named 'Briar Cottage', 'The Anchorage', and 'Rose Cottage'.
