Description

17th century. 3-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan tenement in irregular terrace with turnpike stair tower to front. Harled with base course and painted margins.

N (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: blank central bowed stair with windows to each floor of bay flanking closely to right, further bay to far right with windows to each floor, paired doors to left, windows to each floor of bay to outer left.

S ELEVATION: stone forestair to right of centre (modern door), window to right, small window to left with blocked door at far left (presumably also originally with forestair); 2nd floor with window to left of centre and 2 windows to right.

E ELEVATION: adjoining No 80 in irregular terrace, with 1 small attic window to right in gablehead.

W ELEVATION: adjoining slightly recessed No 92 in irregular terrace with semi-circular moulding at W corner suggesting former neighbour was jettied at 2nd floor.

8-pane glazing pattern in sash and case windows. Red pantiles with slate eaves easing course, crowstepped, steeply-pitched gables; single row of pantiles to W gablehead evidencing former height of neighbour. Ashlar stacks with some cans.
