Description
1-2 Kinghorn Road in Burntisland is an early 19th-century building with a 20th-century addition. It is a two-storey structure with an attic, featuring a small three-bay tenement set on sloping ground within an irregular terrace to the east. The exterior is constructed of coursed and random rubble with harl, complemented by droved quoins and raised margins.
The south elevation facing Kinghorn Road is symmetrical, featuring a central timber door flanked by windows, with regular windows on the first floor. A flat-roofed timber dormer spans the three bays, with windows on both sides.
On the north elevation facing Cromwell Road, the first floor is at street level, accessible via a stone walkway leading to a panelled door with a letterbox fanlight at the center, flanked by additional windows.
The west elevation has a door to the left of center, a window in the middle, and a small window to the outer right, with another small window on the first floor to the outer right. The windows are fitted with plate glass glazing in timber sash and case frames, while the dormer features modern top-opening windows. The roof is covered with concrete pantiles, and there are broad gablehead stacks and ashlar coped skews.
The boundary wall and railings include semicircular coping with arrowhead cast-iron railings on the south and west sides, and a coped rubble boundary wall to the north.
