War Memorial, Kinghorn Road, Burntisland

The War Memorial on Kinghorn Road in Burntisland was built around 1920, with an additional boundary wall memorial added around 1945. It features a Celtic Cross design and is accessed by three steps leading to a low decorative cast-iron railing that surrounds a two-tier plinth. The first stage of the plinth has an inscription, while the second stage includes a sunk panel featuring The Great Michael. The memorial commemorates "To the glory of God and in honoured memory of the men of Burntisland who laid down their lives for their country in the Great Wars." At the top, a Celtic Cross is placed on a raked base adorned with a wreath and a sword with an entwined banner, dated 1914-1919. The names of the fallen soldiers are inscribed on the north, east, and west sides.

The boundary wall includes low coped quadrant walls that step up, topped with moulded coping. A commemorative tablet surmounts a stone wreath on the north side, inscribed with the names of those who died in the Second World War.
