Description
Pitlethie House is an early 19th-century house of two storeys and three bays, built with whin rubble walls and sandstone dressings. The central bay projects forward, featuring R-doric columns and a fanlight above the doorpiece. A panelled wallhead blocking course runs along the top of the facade. A lower back wing is also part of the property, and a 17th-century panel is set into the southeast gable. The house replaces an earlier structure, and a previous building on the site, identified as former item 474, has been largely rebuilt. Records indicate that the Royal Arms were displayed on the front of a building at Pitlethie.
