Description
The boundary walls and gate piers of Balgownie House, built from tall rubble sandstone, enclose the garden to the south and east, sweeping at the northeast corner. In some areas, the wall retains its harling, topped with ashlar coping stones. The entrance gate piers to the east are square in plan, corniced, and feature truncated pyramidal coping stones. There are remains of a light fitting on the south gatepost, with metal gates and a timber pedestrian door to the south. The wall continues along the south side, bordering the roadside. To the west, there is a pair of chamfered, square-plan gate piers with pyramidal coping stones and replacement timber gates. The wall extends northwards along Slate Loan, and there is a cobbled area by the west gates.
