The Boat House at Balgownie House in Culross is an earlier to mid-19th century structure. It is a single-storey, rectangular-plan building with a barrel-vaulted roof. The exterior is made of sandstone rubble, featuring alternate upturned and flat coping stones that create serrated edges along the segmentally-arched gable ends at the north and south. There is a low plinth on the east and west sides. The entrance door is located on the north side and is a replacement metal door. The south gable end is breeze blocked, and the roof is made of stone. Inside, the floor is composed of rubble.
