Description
The stables at Stravithie House date back to the early 19th century and are designed in a Gothic style. The building consists of two L-shaped blocks on the east and west sides, which flank a central rectangular range.
The west block features squared coursed rubble with droved ashlar dressings and has a single-storey, piended roof. There is a slightly taller single-storey wing that extends to the north. The south front displays irregular fenestration, including a single window, a pair of closely spaced windows, and a door window, all with pointed Gothic glazing. A single rectangular chimney stack with a cavetto cornice is present.
The east block is similarly detailed but includes a canted bay added to its west face. It also has a taller single-storey range that returns to the rear on the east side. The central range has its gable facing south and is constructed with coursed squared rubble and ashlar. It features skews, an eaves course, and a large blind Gothic arch above two later glazed openings, all beneath a slated roof.
