Description
The former stables at Amisfield House date back to the earlier 19th century and are symmetrically planned. The building is constructed of limewashed rubble with dressings. It features a two-storey, three-bay gabled inner block, which has recessed and piended single-storey wings on either side. Each floor of the inner block has a central door, with stable doors and dovecot flight holes cut into the blind upper windows. The main eaves cornice is present, and there is a door in the left wing, while the right wing has been modified with a wide opening. There are also two single-storey transverse outer ranges, with the western range displaying a re-set heraldic stone and connected to the inner range by later infill. The entire structure is roofed with graded slates.
