Description
Amisfield Lodge and Gatepiers is a building likely dating from the mid-19th century. It is a single-storey lodge with a cruciform plan and gabled design. The south and west gables feature decorative barge boards, and the entrance is located in a modern harled porch set behind gatepiers in a re-entrant angle. The gabled sections, except for the porch, are constructed of polished red ashlar, while the remainder of the building is rubble-built with red ashlar dressings.
On the west elevation, there is a bipartite arrangement with lying-pane sashes in the gable end. The roof slopes down to the left over a blind, round-headed opening, with similar openings on either side; the south-facing opening is open. There is a 12-pane sash window in the left bay and in the south gable, along with a two-bay east wing. The building has a central apex stack with two octagonal flues and a slate roof featuring projecting eaves. The entrance is flanked by two square, polished ashlar gatepiers that have projecting caps.
