Description
The East Wall at Tanhouse Brae in Culross is a tall rubble wall that features slightly projecting block stone coping in some areas. It rises northwards from Coachman's Cottage and includes a doorway next to the cottage. The wallhead slopes down to a wide opening that leads into the grounds of the manse. There is a break in the wall for Cat's Close, which provides access to the garden of Parley Hill House located to the north of Cat's Close and Newgate, ultimately terminating at the Manse. The wall shows visible blocked openings that indicate the presence of former houses, and it has been heightened at some points.
