Description

The boundary walls at Cats Close in Culross are tall, roughly squared rubble structures that line Newgate. They average 8 feet in height and feature replacement coping stones. There are doorways to the east, including one with a moulded architrave, which is currently in disrepair as of 2001, located to the northeast. A doorway and wall connect to the garden of Rose Cottage to the southeast. Additional doorways can be found to the southwest, where the wall joins the garden wall of Newgate House. Along the narrow lane to the northwest, known as Cat's Close, the walls have been heightened to approximately 10 feet tall.
