Park Lodge Cottage, Culross

Park Lodge Cottage is a later 19th century single-storey, three-bay cottage with a rectangular plan, designed in a Picturesque style. The front elevation features stugged snecked stone, while the other sides are finished in tooled snecked stone.

The southwest, or principal elevation, is symmetrical with an advanced gabled porch at the center that includes a door. There are single windows on either side of the porch, and above these windows is a gablet that breaks the eaves. The gablets and porch have decorative bargeboards with a curvilinear design on the underside, topped with a finial.

The northwest and southeast elevations are plain, each having a central pointed-arch nook where a window has been blocked. The northwest gable features a decorative bargeboard with a curvilinear underside and a finial.

The northeast elevation is also plain, showing remnants of a former lean-to. There are three small openings at ground level that are now blocked.

The cottage has four-pane timber windows and a boarded timber door. The roof is pitched and covered with slate, featuring stone finials on the gables, although the one on the northwest gable is broken. A central, corniced polygonal ridge stack is present.

Inside, the cottage has been modernized in the late 20th century. It consists of a single room on each gable side, with a narrow central room that has a fireplace on the central wall and a coved ceiling.
