Description
Arnotdale is a large two-storey mansion house located on Camelon Road in Falkirk. Originally built in the early 19th century, it was elaborately remodeled in the mid-19th century. The building features droved ashlar stonework and has panelled pilaster angles. Its symmetrical south front includes twin canted bays, each with consoled first-floor balconies and pediments. The entrance is highlighted by a fluted Roman Doric column doorpiece, while the flanking designs differ; the western side has a bay with shell-headed niches on its splayed sides. The mansion also has set-back single-storey wings with pedimented Venetian fronts, although the western wing has lost its pediment.
