Description

The Orchard Park Hotel, located at 2-4 Park Road in Giffnock, was built around 1900. This two-storey and attic house features Arts and Crafts detailing and has been converted into a hotel, with a modern addition at the lower level facing Park Road. The building is constructed of yellow ashlar and has asymmetrical elevations. It includes single, mullioned, and mullioned and transomed windows, with both plate glass and small-paned lights.

At the southeast corner, there is an octagonal turreted bay topped with a finialled, ogival leaded roof. The entrance features a sculptured doorway set in a projecting full-height shallow bay that faces Park Road. The gabled bay on the right side, which faces Fenwick Road, has a canted ground floor window with a balcony that extends to the left and is supported on stone brackets. The building also has wall-head stacks with projecting caps and a broad-eaved slate roof.
