Description
The Post Office in Gladsmuir is an early 19th century T-plan group of single-storey cottages that have been converted into a single dwelling. The building features modern piend roofed and lean-to porch additions at the rear. The exterior is made of squared and snecked stugged ashlar, with rendered sides and rubble at the rear. The main façade facing the road has seven bays, with a door located to the left of the center, two windows to the left, and four windows to the right. There is also a door inserted on the left return and a 1950s window. The predominant windows are sash and case with 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with red pantiles and has crowstepped gables, along with paired coped ashlar diamond ridge stacks. Additionally, a conservatory was added in 1992.
