Description

Circa 1840. 2-storey, 3-bay L-plan schoolhouse, with advanced gabled wing to left; single storey L-plan 3-bay schoolroom squared and snecked sandstone, ashlar dressings; stone mullions to bipartites. Doorway in re-entrant angle with strip fanlight, bipartite to right. 2 windows at 1st floor breaking eaves in pedimented gabled dormerheads. Bipartite at ground and 1st floor to advanced bay with blank ashlar panel to gablehead. 2 windows at 1st floor to E gable end. Gabled porch at rear, stair window and 2 windows at 1st floor detailed as above. Harled, single storey, 3-bay range, recessed, adjoining to W with porch in re-entrant angle. FORMER SCHOOLROOM: sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing pattern. Grey slates, straight skews with gablet skewnutts, ashlar coped stacks with decorative cans.
