Description
Muirton is a farmhouse dating from around 1800, with later modifications. It is a two-storey, three-bay building constructed of random rubble with grey, stugged ashlar dressings. The ground floor windows have stone mullions, with some enlarged to accommodate larger openings.
The south elevation features a central doorway with a pilastered doorpiece. To the right of the door is a canted four-light window with a cornice and blocking course, and to the left a tall tripartite window. There are three windows at the first floor level.
A single-storey wing with an attic projects from the rear, off-centre, alongside lower, piend-roofed outhouse additions. A small window is located in the east gable of the attic.
The windows are sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered in grey slates with straight skews, and the building has coped ashlar stacks.
