Description
These are a pair of mid-to-late 19th century farm cottages, forming a row of two storeys and two bays each. The cottages are built of random rubble with painted margins. Each cottage has a doorway in its outer bay, topped by a brick relieving arch. Windows are situated centrally on the ground floor, with four windows on the first floor, each breaking the roofline with a tile-hung gabled dormer. A further window is visible in each gable. Lean-to additions extend from the rear ground floor. The windows are sash and case style, with 2 or 4 panes of glazing on the ground floor and lying-pane glazing on the first floor. The roof is covered in red pantiles, with a central brick ridge stack. The Ordnance Survey map of Haddingtonshire from 1854 shows the buildings in their original setting.
