Description
Glamis Cottage, built around 1910, is a single-storey, three-bay cottage that is one of a matching pair. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressings and features chamfered arrises around the openings. At the center, there is a decorative timber gabled porch with small-pane glazing in the lights and diagonal boarding, leading to two-leaf doors. The flanking bays contain stone mullioned bipartite windows. At the rear, there are lean-to projections that are currently connected by modern French windows. The windows have a multi-pane glazing pattern in the upper sashes and two-pane lower sashes. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the end stacks are ashlar dressed and corniced, featuring decorative cans. Additionally, there are unusual decorative timber railings and gates along the roadside boundary, flanked by polygonal piers.
