Description

Pentland View is a house dated 1913, featuring two stories and an irregular three-bay design. The principal elevations are constructed from squared and snecked sandstone, accented with stugged and droved ashlar dressings, while the rear is built of rubble. The house includes stone mullions.

At the center of the main elevation, there is a rectangular stone porch with a gabled roof that projects outward. It has a panelled door topped with a decorative small-pane upper panel. To the right, a wide gabled bay slightly advances, featuring a canted, piend-roofed window at the ground level and a bipartite window on the first floor. To the left, there is a tripartite window at the ground level and a narrower tripartite window above, with a hoodmoulded panel that is dated positioned between them.

The side elevations each have two gabled bays, with bipartite windows on both floors of each bay on the east elevation. The west elevation has a wider, blank bay to the south, along with a bipartite window and a single window in a narrower bay.

The rear elevation consists of three bays, with wider and narrower gabled bays on the left and center, respectively, featuring irregular openings. There are single-storey bays to the outer right, which include a doorway.

The sash and case windows have a plate glass glazing pattern. Decorative timber barge boarding is present at the gableheads, along with finials. The roof is covered with purple slates, and there are corniced stone stacks.
