Description

This is a mid to later 18th century, two-story, three-bay millhouse. A lower addition was built later to the south, and altered mill buildings are adjoined to the northwest at a right angle. The building is constructed of red sandstone rubble with grey harling to the east front and side elevations, and has concrete dressings.

The east elevation features windows grouped toward the center, with a central door flanked by windows, and a window in each bay under the eaves at the first floor. To the outer left are two lower two-story bays with a door and square windows. Piend-roofed outbuildings are situated to the outer right, at the end of the mill range to the northwest.

The west elevation has small, low windows at ground level, with a stair window above. A modern addition intercepts the main house in the lower bays. A tall, modern roof projects from the right corner of the mill range, and there is a modern window. Grey slates cover the main house roof, while the lower two-story bays have concrete tiles. The steep pitched roof has harled end stacks.

The building is listed at Grade C, retaining that listing despite modern additions due to its early form. The Humbie Mill Bridge to the south is listed separately.
