Harmony Cottage, Humbie Children's Village

Harmony Cottage is a single-story and attic cottage, likely designed by J H Cooper before 1906, situated within the former Humbie Children’s Village. The rectangular cottage is part of a group built in 1906 in an Arts and Crafts style to provide holiday accommodation for children with disabilities. Later, it served as a residential care facility, before closing in the 1990s and subsequent redevelopment into private housing in 2008.

The cottage is harled (roughcast) externally, with a red tile roof. The west-facing elevation has three bays, with a flat-roofed porch centrally positioned. A tripartite window is located to the left, and a single window is to the right. A gabled porch is situated to the left of the north-facing elevation. A stack projecting from the rear roof pitch indicates a chimney position. A flat-roofed dormer window, with timber construction and leaded sides, is visible on the west side.
