Description

16 and 17 Eskside West in Musselburgh are terrace houses built around 1830. They are two storeys high with attics and have a near-symmetrical facade that features three windows, with the entrance door located on the extreme right. The houses are constructed of coursed rubble and have raised margins around the windows and door, along with a band course at the first floor level. The roof is slate and includes two square, piended dormers. The first floor has six-paned sash windows, while the ground floor windows have been reglazed with single panes. Above the door, there is a fanlight with a lozenge pattern. The rear elevation features a boldly projecting bow-fronted stair tower with single windows at intermediate levels.
