Description
This is a terrace of five houses located on Shaw Street, built in the 1830s. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. They rise three storeys with a basement and have added attics, with each house consisting of three bays. There is a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows with glazing bars, with one blind window on the second floor of each house. The entrances are framed by Ionic aedicules, although they do not have pediments. Some area railings remain, and there are iron balconies on the first floors. Houses 41, 43, and 45 have a mansard roof with dormers, while house 41 has no door, which has been converted into a window. House 49 features dormers as well.
