Description
Nos. 59 and 61 Shaw Street are two houses built in the 1830s. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with three bays. There is a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The entrances are framed by Ionic aedicules without pediments and have six-panel doors. No. 59 includes plain iron area railings and an iron balcony on the first floor, along with one blind window on the second floor. No. 61 features casement windows on the ground floor and a central window on the second floor, with a breeze block area wall.
