Description
No. 53 on Shaw Street is a house built in the 1830s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys plus a basement and is divided into three bays. There is a lintel band at the basement level, a sill band at the first floor, and a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars; the ground floor windows are boarded, and there is one blind window on the second floor. The entrance features an Ionic aedicule without a pediment, and there are plain iron railings around the area.
