4, 6 Bridge Street, Musselburgh

This villa, located at 4 and 6 Bridge Street in Musselburgh, dates from around 1830 and features two storeys with attics. The building has a symmetrical façade that is three windows wide, with two matching bays added to the right at two different stages. It has a plinth, a band course at the first floor, a cornice, and a blocking course. The roof is covered with slate, flat over the second extension. The first floor is finished in droved ashlar with rusticated quoins. There are corniced chimney stacks at both ends. The villa also has three later tripartite dormers. The return gable is symmetrical and three windows wide, with all ground floor and first floor centre windows being blind. An attic window is present in the gable. The first floor windows are architraved, while the ground floor openings are recessed, featuring six-pane upper sashes and single lower sashes.
