Description

West Lodge at Lennoxlove dates from around 1870 and is a symmetrical lodge house featuring a single storey and attic. It has three bays and is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone, with margins that are stugged, droved, and chamfered. The building has projecting eaves supported by block corbels and includes a lower outshot to the north, which was previously used as a milking house and has two bays.

The front elevation, facing northeast, has a four-panelled door with a letterbox fanlight, flanked by two windows. On the southeast gable, there are two windows offset to the rear, one on each floor. The northwest gable features a single window on the first floor. The rear elevation, facing southwest, is symmetrical with three windows, the central one being smaller. There are also two dormers on the first floor with flat metallic sides. The outshot has two windows on the front elevation, a door and window on the rear, and a tiny window along with an infilled doorway on the gable. The windows are timber sash and case with lying panes, mostly consisting of eight panes. The roofs are gabled and covered in graded grey slate, with chamfered ashlar skews and moulded skewputts found only on the main house. Both main gables feature plain stacks, each topped with two plain cans.

Inside, the lodge retains most of its original simple panel doors, banisters, and other fittings.
