Description
Grant's Braes Bridge is a substantial single-span bridge from the earlier 19th century, located on the B6368 road over Colstoun Water. It is constructed of grey sandstone ashlar, featuring droved surfaces on the piers, copes, and voussoirs.
The bridge has a low segmental arch with neatly dressed and channelled voussoirs, topped with a projecting string course. The narrow square-section piers are set back and capped with pyramidal tops. The flat-coped parapet includes regular raised stones that suggest a castellated design. At both ends, the bridge connects to rubble walls with ashlar copes, leading to drumpiers with domed caps, which in turn connect to the rubble boundary walls of the Lennoxlove Estate.
