Description

Daw's Well is an early 19th-century rectangular-plan cistern located in Stenton. It features large pink sandstone ashlar blocks on the east side, which face Mid Green, with rubble sides and rear. The cistern has ashlar coping along the parapets on the east, south, and north sides. A round-arched panel is recessed at the center of the east front. It includes a square cast-iron panel by Glenfield and Kennedy of Kilmarnock, which has a water spout. The roof is made of stone slabs.
