Description

The lighthouse on Bass Rock was designed by David Alan Stevenson and completed in 1902. It features a two-stage structure topped with a lantern and is finished in white harling. Adjoining the lighthouse is a single-storey cottage with a flat roof, which is also harled. The lighthouse is situated on a fortified outcrop that is contemporary with Bass Rock Castle.
