Description
Stoer Head Lighthouse was designed by D. & T. Stevenson and completed in 1870. It features a short circular tower that is connected to the keepers' dwellings at two levels. The structure is constructed of white painted tooled ashlar. The lighthouse has a projecting walkway around the light, which is equipped with a cast-iron handrail.
The accompanying two-storey, three-bay dwelling has a flat roof and is divided into two houses, each with a single-storey lean-to extension at the gable. The windows are fitted with multi-pane glazing. The property is enclosed by a whitewashed rubble wall that is coped, featuring three gate piers made of squared rubble topped with pyramidal caps. There is one wide gate and one narrow gate for access.
