Description

Auldhame is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay farmhouse. It features a projecting, bowed bay that was added around 1890, along with single bays added at each end. The exterior is finished with pebble-dash harling and has ashlar dressings and a base course on the bowed bay, with some margins rendered and lined to resemble ashlar. There is an ashlar eaves course as well.

On the southeast elevation, there is a pilastered doorpiece at the center with a decorative fanlight above a panelled door that has glazed upper panels. A wrought-iron lamp bracket is positioned above the door. To the right, the projecting bay has a full-height bow with three windows on each floor, and there is one bay to the right. To the left of the main doorway, there is a similar bay, and the outer left bay has had its ground floor window altered to create a fanlit doorway. A modern conservatory has been added in the re-entrant angle, enclosing both doorways.

The northeast elevation shows the original house with five regular bays and a stair window at the center. The flanking first-floor windows are partly blocked above and below, and a doorway has been inserted into a ground floor window to the left of center. There is an outer addition to the left that is slightly recessed, featuring a doorway, a first-floor window, and a projecting piend-roofed outbuilding at the outer angle.

The sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern. The main house has a piend roof with lead flashings and is covered with slates. The chimney stacks are coped, pebble-dashed, and retain their original cans. A rubble-coped boundary wall and a driveway lead to the rear from the north.
