Description
Post Cottage in Whitekirk is an earlier 19th-century single-storey row originally consisting of five two-bay cottages, set on a slope. The building is constructed of rubble whinstone with stugged cream ashlar dressings featuring droved borders.
The west elevation facing the street has ten bays. There are doorways located in the first, fourth, and seventh bays, while a former doorway in the tenth bay from the left has been blocked and converted into a window. The doors are boarded and have two-pane fanlights above them. The remaining bays contain windows, which feature a four-pane glazing pattern typical of sash and case windows. The roof is covered with pantiles, complemented by a slate easing course at the eaves, and there are brick ridge stacks.
