Description
This building, located at 3 Victoria Road in Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, dates from around 1880 and is attributed to Robert Turnball, possibly in collaboration with Thomson and Turnball. It is a very plain Greek villa situated next to the railway station.
The villa is two storeys high, with a forward wing on the right side, constructed of ashlar stone and topped with slate roofs. The sides feature three windows arranged in pairs and triplets, with architraves and cornices that include volute brackets on the ground floor, which also houses a centrally located doorway.
Notably, there are impressive Thomsonesque gatepiers and a garden wall attached to the property. The gatepiers are topped with pyramidal shapes and display intricate carved detail.
