Description
The drinking fountain located in Elmbank Drive Public Gardens in Kilmarnock was built in 1910. It is made of polished grey and pink granite. The fountain features a square plinth with a scrolled base leading to the shaft, which has corner pillars that frame triangular niches on all four sides. A drinking basin is situated on the southeast face. Above the shaft, there are four pink granite columns that support a crowning cap, with an urn positioned at the center of these columns. An inscription on the northeast face reads: "Presented to the town by the Kilmarnock Equitable Co-operative Society Ltd in Commemoration of the Society's Jubilee October 1910."
