Description
This drinking fountain, located on Colston Avenue in Bristol, was built in 1893 and erected in 1901. It is made of grey granite and features red granite bowls. The fountain has square steps leading up to a moulded plinth, with bowls on each face. Above the plinth, there are grey columns supporting pediments on either side, along with red granite plaques. The fountain is topped with a fluted grey drum and a domed top. One lion-head tap remains on the northwest side, and the City Arms is displayed in brass facing southwest. This fountain commemorates the Industrial and Fine Art Exhibition that took place on the site from 1893 to 1894.
