Description
This building at 414 Perth Road in Dundee dates from around 1850 and is a two-storey and attic house with three bays, constructed from coursed rubble. Due to the slope of the land, the elevation facing the street appears as a single storey and basement, with the first-floor door accessed by steps. There are single windows on each side of the entrance, along with a small window that was later added.
On the south elevation, the house is two-storey and has a basement. It features a central door with a cornice and railed steps. The right bay is advanced and has a pediment with a small square window in the tympanum, while the ground floor window has an apron and cornice. The left bay includes canted windows that rise through all floors, which were added around 1880 and are rendered. A small dormer is also present.
The windows are primarily four-pane sash and case. The roof is slate, with skewputts and gable end stacks, which are larger where they are shared with the adjacent properties at 416-418 Perth Road. Wrought- and cast-iron railings line the front of the property along Perth Road.
