Description
This building, located at 424 and 426 Perth Road in Dundee, dates back to around 1800. It is a single-storey and basement structure, rising to two storeys on the south side due to the slope of the land. The building is a three-bay flatted house, constructed from rubble that has been later rendered. It features small windows with simple margins.
The elevation facing the street has a first floor accessed by a central stone platform with wrought-iron railings. There are four windows on the ground floor and two on the first floor, each accompanied by a central door.
On the south elevation, a door has been blocked, and there are four windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor. The wallhead has a raised gable with a small off-centre window, and the stack has been removed. The west gable adjoins No 428 Perth Road, while the east gable features a tall stack and raised skews, suggesting that the roof may have originally been thatched, although it is now slated. The building has sash and case windows, which have been fitted with later single-pane glazing.
To the east, there is the shell of an adjoining outhouse with blocked margined windows. The property is bordered by low walls along Perth Road.
