Description
416 and 418 Perth Road in Dundee are two-storey houses built around 1830-1840, featuring a sunk basement at the road level. The front elevation facing the road has a three-bay design with coursed rubble stonework, while the west and south sides are constructed from random rubble.
The front has a first-floor door that is reached by a stone platform, with single windows on either side and a small window that was added later. The south elevation is a straightforward two-storey, three-bay layout with a central door and no decorative detailing, and it includes a modern dormer.
The houses have a slate roof with skewputts and an end stack on the west gable, while the east gable is shared with No 414 Perth Road. The windows on the south side retain their original 12-pane sash and case design, whereas the north side features altered 2-pane sash and case glazing. Additionally, there are wrought- and cast-iron railings along Perth Road.
